PUERTO CALERO MARINA
Puerto Calero is located on the south-east coast of Lanzarote and is home to the marina, 2 hotels, and an exclusive residential area. The marina itself was opened in 1989 and initially contained 200 berths. Due to the success of this development, a decision was made by the owners to increase the number of berths and in 1999 works were completed which provided in excess of 400 berths for boats up to 100 metres in length.
Puerto Calero Marina is a wonderful place to visit, not only to partake in one of the various boat excursions which depart from this port, but also to just wander around, look at the different boats which are berthed here, or just sit in one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of this exclusive part of Lanzarote. For the shopper, there is a mixture of designer boutiques and gift shops to explore and, on Tuesdays and Fridays, there is a market held on the Plaza Las Carpas. Getting to and from Puerto Calero is easy, whether it be by car (there are two large free car parks in the marina), taxi, public bus (No. 161 stops just outside the marina), or even by the Water Taxi from Puerto del Carmen Old Town Harbour.
